Important Note About This Summer

Session has decided that Rev. Lanning needs and deserves a rest from his ministerial labors, and has granted him a four month sabbatical. Rev. Lanning will be working on several projects during the coming months, and session will be working to further vitalize the church.

The week of May 3, Rev. Mitchell Dick of the Protestant Reformed Churches will be providing pulpit supply. Rev. James Faris of Southfield RPCNA will be stepping in the week of May 10, and Rev. Nathan Eshelman will be coming home from the RPC of LA to fill the pulpit May 17.

Please continue to watch the site for updates on who is preaching when, and more important, please pray for Rev. Lanning, the session, and the congregation of First RP that we may be blessed by this experiance, and that we may be a blessing to others and a testimony to Christ.

Special Sabbath School Program – March 1, 2009

Doug and Connie Sikma will give an illustrated report on their recent trip to South Africa to visit our friends, Drs. Arthur and Sonja Miskin, and to work alongside them in Mukhanyo Theological Seminary in KwaMhlanga, as well as in the church and care center for AIDS patients connected with the seminary. Please reassemble in the chapel after the coffee time no later than 11:45 AM.

Guest Preacher for Morning Worship

This week Sabbath, March 1, during Morning Worship, Rev. Mitchell Dick will preach on the subject, “Receiving of His Fullness,” from John 1:16, 17. Rev. Dick is a minister in the Protestant Reformed Churches, presently without a charge. He kindly agreed to preach for us as a favor to Rev. Lanning who was slated to be away from home in the latter part of the previous week to attend the meeting of Great Lakes/Gulf Presbytery at Second Reformed Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis, IN.
